A little help for the people hiding a little magic
Your Hidekeeper Guide
New hide? Half-finished draft? Need to fix a clue?
Here’s where to go and which buttons to use.
Your first stop is My Trolls. Your saved posts live under Drafts → My Hide Posts.
Sign in to your Inner 369 account to manage your hides. This guide is available whenever you need it.
New hide or rehide? Use the Hidekeeper form to send a new troll out on its journey. If you found a troll and are passing it on again, use Rehide a Troll with its existing number.
Send your troll out into the world
Post a new hide
- Sign in and open My Trolls. Choose Register Hide beside your assigned troll, or open the Hidekeeper form and choose New Hide.
- Choose the correct troll type and check its number. For IBT3D-123, choose IBT3D Troll and enter 123 in the 3D number field. Keep 90s Trolls, Troll Charms and IBT3D Trolls in their correct categories.
- Set the location and the date you actually hid it. Add a clue and up to two photos if you’d like. Each photo must be under 10 MB.
- When the troll is in place and the details are right, choose Publish Now ✦. After a successful save, you’ll return to My Trolls.
Before making a new post, check whether this hide already exists. Use Edit Hide to fix an existing post.
Help someone find the right place
Set your map pin
- Search for the hide location. If you’re standing at the hiding spot, tap My Location and allow location access when your browser asks.
- Check the map. Drag the pin to the exact hiding spot, or tap the map to place it.
- Check the Location Header. You can give it a recognizable name without moving the pin.
The pin and the written location should describe the same place. If your phone’s location is inaccurate or unavailable, use the search and map instead.
Choose an accessible hiding spot and respect the space. Our community guidelines explain what makes a thoughtful hide.
Get it ready without posting it yet
Save and reopen a draft
- Choose the troll type and enter its number. Add whatever details you have ready.
- Choose Save Draft and wait for the save confirmation. The draft stays private.
- To return later, open My Trolls → Drafts. In My Hide Posts, choose Open Draft beside the correct troll.
- Finish your changes, then choose Save Draft again or Publish Now ✦ when it’s ready.
Drafts are not automatically saved. Press Save Draft before closing the page or switching to another post.
The actual hide date can stay blank while you prepare a draft. Set it to the day the troll was physically hidden before publishing or scheduling.
Fix the post you already made
Edit a published hide
- Open My Hide Posts and expand Your published hides — edit.
- Find the correct number and choose Edit Hide.
- Update its location, clue or photos. To remove a saved photo, use its Remove saved photo checkbox.
- Choose Save Changes ✦ and wait for confirmation.
The troll number, troll type and original hide date stay locked on a published post.
If the troll has been found or its journey has moved on, you may see View Journey instead. If the number, type or original date is wrong, contact Beans rather than posting the same hide again.
Save now, share later
Schedule a post
- Prepare the hide details and make sure the troll is already in place.
- Under Publish later, check the displayed time zone and choose a time at least one minute ahead.
- If automatic publishing is active, choose Schedule Post and confirm the time.
The page tells you whether automatic publishing is active. When active, scheduled posts normally appear within five minutes of the selected time. If it’s inactive, save a draft and publish manually.
To change or cancel a schedule, choose Open Draft for that post, then choose a new time and Schedule Post, or choose Save Draft to keep it private.
The actual hide date and the publishing time are different things. Don’t enter a future date as the day you physically hid the troll.
Keep your draft list tidy
Delete or restore a draft
- In My Hide Posts, choose Delete Draft beside the saved draft you don’t need.
- Confirm the deletion. It moves into Deleted Drafts, where it can be restored for 30 days.
- Changed your mind? Expand Deleted Drafts and choose Restore Draft. Open and review it before publishing.
After 30 days, deleted drafts are removed permanently. Restoring a draft does not publish it.
Deleting a saved draft copy does not remove a published hide. The “Older draft copies — already published” section holds earlier copies; use View Published Journey to check the live record before cleaning those up.
Someone found it, but didn’t register?
Record that a troll is gone
If you return to a hiding spot and the troll is missing, open the Hidekeeper page’s Check My Hides section.
For the hide you checked, select the date you checked it, then choose Checked—troll is gone.
This records a check. It doesn’t create a find or give anyone finder credit. My Trolls can show it as Checked—gone; finder unknown.
Only hides linked to your account appear here. Don’t register the missing troll as your own find just to clear it from the board.
Before you start again
If something looks stuck
- Connection dropped? Choose Refresh My Posts and check whether your save or publish already finished before trying again.
- “Publication interrupted”? Refresh your posts and check Hidden Trolls for the same number. If it’s already public, don’t create another new hide. Contact Beans if the saved copy still looks stuck.
- No Delete Draft button? Check whether you’re looking at a scheduled or published post. For a scheduled post, open it and Save Draft first. Published hides use Edit Hide or View Journey.
- “This draft changed”? Refresh My Posts and reopen the latest saved copy before editing again.
If you need help, send Beans the troll number, what you were doing and a screenshot of the message. Never send your password.
Every hide is a little invitation to smile.
Thank you for helping the kindness travel. 💜
